The P180 is classy looking and clean, it stays nice and quite. The CM690 may have a few more fans but is just a cheap looking case the sides are thin metal and the front and top are cheap plastic. The P180 is one of those cases you can just sit back and look at and appreciate for its artful looks. The P180 is tons easier to manage your cables cause its bigger. It should not even be a decision I owned both and tell you get something that you can enjoy for years to come, its like comparing a chevy and a volvo one is just tons better.

Is the CM690 very easy to work with? i.e. installling new components fast and hiding cables.

I have a windowed CM690 so I'm not sure what you're on about, Hiding cables can be done by using the holes provided at the top and the bottom of the case or by using the Cable guides, very easy case to work with, Airflow is great, only regret is that it isn't aluminium and since I'm a Lanner it doesn't work for me so I'm selling it to go mATX ^^, 690 is an awesome case for its price.

I have my 690 and love it. The cable management is actually really good. You can run everything behind the motherboard through the holes provided and as far as installing new components goes, it is fast and easy. Pop the front panel off, open up a space, slide the new component in, hook up cables and you're good to go. No screws.

I considered the P182 before I got my 690. It looks nice, but I needed to be able to get to my drives without a door. I see no purpose in having a door on your computer.

I kinda agree with that statement you said about the door. Seems a little annoying having to open it up all the time.

Its about sound and lights. Some people don't want the blue lights from fans and/or fan speed controllers in the 3.5" bay, to light up the whole room. And while we are on it..why does every freaking add-on have to have lights. Doesn't the industry realize that people want performance without their computers looking like a sign for a hooker disco?

Anyway, the door helps reduce sound as well. When you have a honeycomb grill in front(and the majority of your case has holes in it) you generate more noise and attract more dust.

EDIT: And how often are you "opening up" the area where the door is? Most games these days don't do CD/DVD checks and MMO's definitely don't check it...so what are you needing to get access to so much?
