[Project]Blue Night (CM690) 56k Warning - Pics in post 6 [Completed]

My EVGA 780i came in today and I'm ready to dismantle my veteran Opty rig, slightly mod my 690 and get my Wolfdale setup running.
I'm not doing anything amazing to the 690, just going to cut out most of the fan grills (top, bottom, front, rear and possibly side) and cut some more holes in the motherboard tray for some better cable management. I was also thinking about adding another 120mm fan behind the hard drive bay, inside the case, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. If anyone has any suggestions on how to do it, or any other modest mods for the 690, let me know.
This might take me a day or two or three, depending on how much I can get done tonight and tomorrow after work. There might be some pics up tonight, definitely tomorrow.

On my server right now, will upload some pics tomorrow after I clean up the cuts I made. I have tomorrow off work, so I'll be working on the case for the majority of the day
After finishing the rough cuts today I came to the realization that I have to paint the case.
I scratched the **** out of the top of the case.
So can anyone tell me the best way to go about painting the 690? Might as well paint the interior as well as the bits I fubared. Am I going to be able to match up the paint on the top with the side panels? Or should I paint them as well?
Should've laid some tape down on the case before I started cutting. Ah well live and learn.

I also plugged in my Wolfdale and painfully put together the TRUE - those fan clips are fickle *****es! With the push/pull fan setup on this baby she looks deadly. Can't wait to see her in action (the only reason I'm debating painting the case. I'm itching to get her up and running, but the scratches are brutal).

On a completely unrelated note: I was wondering about raid 0 with 4 hard drives on the 780i. The manual had me questioning if it's possible with the onboad controller. Do I need an add-in raid controller for a 4 drive raid 0 array?

I finished it last night and spent the evening loading XP and tweaking it to my liking, still haven't OCed the Wolfdale yet, but I have tomorrow off work so it'll be a late night tonight I figure...
Here's the pics of my build:

First the sponsor of Blue Night:

The case stripped down and ready to be molested:

An example of why you should take case mods slow, plan carefully and not dive in like a jackass:

The cuts:

Thought this would be a good way to hide the mess of cables leading to the fan controller:

I cleaned them up a bit after that, nut you get the drift.

My pride and joy:

After she was all plugged in and good to go:

And Blue Night in action:

Not too shabby if I don't say so myself. The mods were done for functionality and not aesthetics. I was hoping to have two more fans, one on the side and one more up top, but that TRUE is HUGE. With two 110cfm Slipstream Kaze's hooked up, I'm getting 24C on the Wolfdale at idle - still haven't had the chance to see it at load. I'll run some benchmarks before and after I OC this sucker.

Speaking of the TRUE, getting the fan clips on was stupid. The instructions were useless, probably written by someone who wears a helmet. Well worth the effort though.

nice! I was thinking of doing that to the front and back fans, and maybe some of that cable management

Pr0n.

Seriously though, I only bought the 4 250gb drives for performance. I'm using about 300gbs of my 500gb storage drive - got a **** load of music and movies on there.
