I try to make them last...but it seems like as soon as I order something, the next best thing hits the market before UPS shows up with the one I just ordered. So I said 6 months (seems like a long time as far as hardware is concerned)

I usually upgrade every two year. But now I see myself upgrading something every month.

I've been generally buying cards anywhere from mid-range to top-end when I do upgrade. I generally strive for every 2 years, unless of course I need to use an application like Photoshop or something, and my card can't handle it. But so far it's been fine.

Thread Starter
I am hoping the industry changes wildly in 2009 with CPU and GPU's being on the same chip, etc. It would open whole new realms and make things increase in speed dramatically (so the theory goes). Direct X has lost sight of things and Vista is bloated.

Been about a year for me now. The longest any GFX card has lasted me haha.
yearly unless there is something that comes out I can't resist. Since I am a cheap mofo, I tend to buy 6 months behind release/ I don't see the point in paying top dollar and it frustrates the hell out of me to see something on sale for $50 cheaper after i order it.
