But that wasn't it, then came the attempt by all major developers to "assimilate" creativity and quality into a shell that will work on all platforms at once.

Pretty much when they started building games around both consoles and PC, it's just not possible to make a good game that will do this.

However if consoles are your thing then there's really no loss.

Both the 360 and PS3 can match the graphical power of the PS3 with lesser hardware. Not only that but consoles are mainstream and popular.

Anyone would be foolish to think PC gaming has a better future than consoles.

Consoles cost less and are more readily available. The average user will always choose the console.
what? "both the 360 and ps3 can match the grahpical power of the ps3 with lesser hardware." what the hell are you trying to say?

Really? I swear that Civat Yerli said that Crysis could not run and look like on console like it can on the PC.

People don't realize that the price for a Video game Entertainment system is the basically the same no matter what it is you play, Xbox, Playstation, Wii, or PC.

People are always saying things like:
Quote:
You go to a store and see a PS3 next to a computer. You are there to buy some form of entertainment, what will u buy?
price tag 600 vs 1500.
But if you think about that, that's entirely false.

The modern American (or European) practically can't live without a computer. everyone needs one for one thing or another, myspace, email, paying taxes etc. So, either way, everyone is going to have a computer.

If you buy that 600 dollar PS3, can you pay your taxes with it? nope, can you visit myspace? nope, email? nope, go to OCN because its the best site evar? nope.
so you have to buy a PC on top of that, which we all know, just for the most basic functionality, will run you anywhere from 700-900 dollars from an OEM manufacturer.

And then when you take into account the fact that the quote I posted above is completely wrong, since it doesn't cost nearly 1500 dollars to build a computer capable of running every single game on the market maxed out (crysis doesn't count) you begin to see the bigger picture.

So, next time you're thinking to yourself "Ohh man, PC games are dying because consoles are cheaper" remember thats its not a question of price, not even close.... Its a question of intelligence, and PC Gamers are smarter, but sadly, fewer in stock

How long ago did you buy that? Cause I can build a $500 CAD rig with an HD3850 (Prices are sure helping, with the price drop at least), and 2gigs of ram, on an E2160.

two different groups of people . PC's are for people who have money and are not afraid of technology.
Consoles are for people who are afraid to get dirty.

You go to a store and see a PS3 next to a computer. You are there to buy some form of entertainment, what will u buy?
price tag 600 vs 1500.

In theory most people will buy the PS3 because its cheaper. However those that like technology and are curious buy the pc because it can do alot more than a ps3 can.

Also keep in mind that in reality a console is not cheaper at all. To use a console you need a high def television (ps3 or 360) that will set you back at least 500 dollars for a 24 inch ... but why if u want high deff get a 40 inch... thats another $500 +

Oh right, you want better sound ... $500
Oh yeah! your buddy wants to play with you! ... $40 per person (controller)
Oh wait .. I have to buy all my games from a store! Costs of discs are more expensive than downloading games off the internet. (thank you steam)

All in all you end up spending more money on a console then you do for a pc. It is just easier to spend less money at one time.

Oh yeah, the console graphics cant be updated ... shux

Just my two cents
your buddy wants to play with you, 40$ controller, your buddy wants to play COD online w/ you ANOTHER 1500$ COMPUTER lol u forgot bout that one

as well a good sound system and big tv are just as applicable to computers therefore there goes that argument, as well tvs/sound are good for enjoying tvs and music from your couch

Also PC's arent just for gaming, thats why the general public has a pc, they dont need to explore into the 1500$ realm and learn how to install games, not every1 is a nerd

plus if you wanna game you can spend the extra money on your pc if you know how to upgrade or you can just buy and easy to play console

Pc's gaming for the most part (WoW) is for the nerds/elitists, and console gaming is easier to play/access for the general public

Why is it that everyone insists that PC's cost grands of dolor's? We are a PC enthusiast tech group, we overclock. WE Get the best we can with our price and make it better! Last time I checked, this wasn't console fanboy noob central. But lately, this is what is happening.

PC's do not cost that much, unless you allow them too.

And that last part isn't true. Just look at STEAM's surveys and what not. You will notice that a huge % of the people that use steam, have old computers that are outdated. Yet, they are playing games on STEAM. So PC gaming isn't just to the group you mentioned, it is for everyone. Most people just have trouble with PC gaming, cause they require at least some knowledge or learning. If we just stop people from learning something, and make everything too simple, then I can see why current generations are pretty stupid.
