Either way though I do understand what you are trying to say.
The only issue will be the next generation of consoles that will all have better online/internet services but the more consoles become computer-like, the more the line begins to blur until eventually consoles have become computers again, proving PC's will technically never die, with a lower ability to upgrade but far more software support both games and application wise. This is the inevitable problem since all programmers would rather program on a system they can optimize the code for.
Have shoddy code that runs on multiple consoles AND PC's or have optimized code that runs on 3-4 different consoles?
Over all who knows what the future is going to bring.
No, you pretty much spoke what i think is true.
With the recent massive flow of GTA threads in the news section, its an argument ive been having for a while now. its because the PS3 and 360 don't follow console standard that makes them so unappealing to me. they are unstable. (especially in the 360's case) moreso than my computer, which is capable of doing what they can do, only so much better, and so much more.
