Ghot, I'm running the AMD dual core optimizer and the Microsoft "multiple processor" patch.

Hope this helps

I have the amd core optimizer however it doesn't work. I thought it was just something that just runs automatically. However according to the read me your suppose initiate it then it runs in the task bar so you have the ability to adjust it. It has never worked to my knowledge on any of my am2 systems.

ghot, I'm really confused as to why you want to run the 13.5 multiplier WITH a DDR2 1066 setting. It doesn't make sense and here's why:

a) Raising the CPU multiplier beyond the default value is good for one reason: it overclocks the CPU and NOT the memory.
b) The DDR2 1066 option is good for one reason: it overclocks the memory more for the same CPU speed.

The two concepts weren't meant to be combined. The DDR2 1066 setting contradicts the purpose of raising the CPU multiplier.

Half CPU multipliers and sometimes odd multipliers make overclocking very tricky. So does using a DDR2 1066 setting. You can acheive a better overclock if you use a 12x CPU multiplier and a DDR2 800 setting. If you can get the reference clock up to 270MHz at those settings (which I bet you can), then you'll have a CPU running at 3.24GHz and memory running at DDR2 1080. If you can squeeze a few more MHz out of the reference clock, you'll move toward 3.3GHz and DDR2 1100. Give it a try!

Durch i changed multi long ago...

anyways with AMD Dual Core optimizer and MS Hotfix KB896256 here the results:

The AMD DCO lowered temps a little and Orthos lasted 3.5 hours longer this time...

I wonder if I should set SB HT to 4x also?

Good going.... at least it looks like you're having better luck with this CPU than the previous one.

Ghot, are you referring to the HT multiplier? If so then I'd suggest giving it a shot to see how it goes. That should put your HT speed at 1068mhz. Are you currently at 5x?

Good luck

naw bro I already got the CPU<>NB set at 4x I was wondering if I shud also set the NB<>SB at 4x.

Also since I'm only running 1 OS and no VM software...I don't need AMD Virtualization...do I?

Ghot, that's correct. You can disable it in the BIOS. The virtualization technology option is used by operating systems that are not aware of virtualzation. The hypervisor can't handle certain instructions when virtualization is not enabled so that is why the option is in the BIOS. With VMWare it doesn't have to be enabled but it's good to have it on because it can offload certain things to the processor.

Good luck
