Help with power connector for a EVGA 780i mobo

post #1 of 17
Thread Starter
Hello, my friend got a new EVGA 780I mobo. He has a Cooler Master 600W PSU. After we fit the board, we realized that there is no connector for the 8 pin Power connector for the CPU. Is there any quick fix for this? I mean using 2*4 pin connectors? Please help. Thanks.

Use 1 4 pin, of if you have a 2x4 pin connector on your power supply, use that.

DO NOT use 2 PSU's for their P4 connectors.

Also, don't get any of those 4 pin = > 8 pin connectors unless they are 4 pin + 2 x molex => 4pin.

Sorry but the 4 pin that i was talking about are the ones we use to connect the optical drives. I dont think you are talking about the same. Do we get 8 pin power converters? If you can give a link, it would be really useful. Thanks.

?

You are talking about 4 pin molex?

There should be a 4 pin connector that is for the CPU only.

Your PSU has a 4-pin AUX plug for the CPU. It is a 2x2 square plug. It absolutely definitely has it.
Once again...

It's not for old mobos It's for the good old mobos, and the average today mobos. Else there are 8-pin for the high-end of todays mobos.

You should (usually) place it to the left in your socket. The tab holding it in should indicate it, usually by being longer at that part.
