Are my Tracers D9s?

Thread Starter
I just got my Tracers in the mail. Talk about minimalist packaging.

Anyway, they box says 128MB x 64. Does this make them double-sided, and thus D9s? I'm not really positive if that's enough info, but if these are D9s, I'm about to have a whole new beast on my hands.

Thanks,
pow3rtr1p

Are there two rows of lights or only one?
If there are two rows they are double sided and thus D9's.

I haven't unpackaged them yet, I'm at school right now. I was hoping someone would know based on the chip size. Thanks, though.

Oh i missed that.
Yes that makes them D9's

EDIT:
Oh wait, I had it backwards. That makes them the one sided chips. Still too early for me...

See if the label says BL2KIT12864AL1065, Barcode is 4952873798 something like this.

The funny thing is there is no rule that says they put d9's into crucial mem
in fact they do use other IC's , the only way to be sure is to rip off your heat
spreaders.(not suggested) Some is and some isnt, whether dual or single sided.
Even if there D9's they make about 12 diff kinds of d9 IC

They're all D9's. Just different types IIRC.

The 128mb x 64 are the D9NHL ICs. They dont OC as high as the D9GMH ICs, but I've seen them up to 1129.

I've had Ballistix HNLs to 1160 before killing them with stock voltage, after 4 days. On the other hand I had Ballistix D9GMH to 1200, with tighter timings, before killing them with stock voltage, after four months.

Also it is HNL, not NHL, for the record.

Quite easy to tell them apart, even without removing the heatspreader, if you know what you are looking for.

They're all D9s, but the GMH's are meant to clock better, though the other ones also clock well and generally last longer.

D9GMH's are double sided dimms, so have earnt the name 'fat ram'
the other ones are single sided.
If there are 16 LED's, then it is the GMH version, which clocks well.
If there are 8 LED's then its one of the others, which clock worse but last longer.

Also, if you ordered from NewEgg, then it is almost guaranteed not to be the GMH. They have some left, but mainly for RMA's of the older, double sided ram.
