He's talking about PIP though, which means both at once on the screen, one being smaller in the corner or something similar.

Does your monitor support the PIP function? If not it won't work, there's no way to implement it "artificially"

If your monitor supports it, then make sure your computer and PS3 aren't both connected on the same input (exemple: both the PS3 and PC are connected to a single DVI input on the monitor through a switch)
