Who is buying this card and plays in low resolution?

Who buys a GX2 to play on a 17" or 19" monitor anyways? These cards are made for monitors that are 22" minimum.

who cares how many gpu's it has? It's still a single card solution that takes up as many pcix16 slots as it's little brother the 8800ultra.

of course buying an 8 or 9 series anything intending to play popcap games is a bad investment.

hmm... I was expecting more, but drivers are the main issue. I'm glad they beat 3x ultras with bad drivers, for much cheaper. Hopefully better drivers will get much better performance...

Also, if you are playing older games sli wont give you any extra fps so it wont help there. The main thing that gets me is that two 8800GTS's in sli cost less & perform better than one 9800GX2, talk about "next gen" .

Well it seems like 740 on the core for the 9800GX2 is about average, just stock cooling of course.

I'd say that's enough for max settings in crysis in SLI.

Wow, i didn't know people were still bashing crysis

and while your at it, you can take your 13 y/o attitude elsewhere. I'm pretty sure you have done some great work since you know how to make a game that looks better than crysis that can still run on old computers. AND YOU PROBABLY ARE A CODING GENIUS OR SOMETHING TOO. THERE'S NO WAY YOU WOULD MAKE A GAME JUST BECAUSE ITS YOUR JOB.

oh please give me the link for your infinitely better game, because WE ALL KNOW THAT 3dmark IS THE BEST COMPARISON BETWEEN EVERYTHING COMPUTER RELATED, especially when a 8600gt can score 6500+ and still suck at running REAL GAMES (like crysis)

Either keep your pointless blather to yourself or complain to your friend-OH WAIT

so let me get this straight..

by putting two graphics cards together, Nvidia has hit some sort of loop-hole that just because it's better than a GPU that they discontinued (that was an overclocked version of the GTX anyway) people will still go and buy it for that extra 6-7 FPS in a game compared to just sli'ing what they already have?

Backwards thinking much?

and saying that you wouldn't care if it had 3 or 4 GPU's IMHO is just ignorance. Why would you spend $600+ on $400 or less of current technology? (and to be honest, if you are even considering this GPU, you probably already had some sort of 8800 GPU around and got caught up in the NUB BAIT). AND if it takes Nvidia 2 years to relead the technology they came out with just more of them on one PCB (i'm looking at YOU AMD) and your saying even if it took 4 to get that performance it is still justified?

to be fair, older games don't need much performance anyway, but true enough, justifying this card is going to be tough (not to mention these cards are going to be loaded with eye-cathing features such as 2gb of memory in select models!)

What CPU was used? I'm asking because I know for a fact that SLI will perform better with a heavily oc'ed quad, I'm talking about at least 4Ghz+.

hmmmm, just a thought, im not sure if this would work but it makes sense in theory to me at least. can u sit 3 9800gx2's on a 790i chipset board? if they are only 2 slot cards then they could fit couldnt they?
is the only reason this is not happening because nvidia has no drivers for it yet? im sure with proper utilization 3 9800gx2's could get 40+ fps with very high in crysis. just a thought, but please do tell me if i am completely wrong
