9800gtx 3-way SLI - Page 2

I'm using this one in respect to a potential 3-way 9800GTX setup (two to start then we'll see how things roll).

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817256022

It has all the cables needs and modular so you can dish the extras you don't need.

How much juice would you need to sli 2 gtx's? I'm guessing my 580 watt (650 max) psu is insufficient...

Really? I think you've had them on your mind for quite a while. (he said this in regards to the GX2)

This is the info you need to know. 168w x3 = 504w. 504w/12V=42amps. You need at least 42amps on the 12v rail just for the cards.

Wait, that PSU has 4x12v rails. 18A, 18A, 30A, & 30A. Each 18A rail should give you 216W each. Which is more then enough. That should give you a little room to OC them a bit too. You should be fine.

I would go with at least 1000w, but I would go higher if you're going to be WCing. For the additional fans and hds and roms. Silverstone makes a tri sli psu.
