Very Wierd Ubuntu problem

Thread Starter
For some reason this machine has been restarting randomly at least 2 times a day. Now the last time it did it I logged in and now I only see 70% of my screen and have to scroll around the edges to see the rest like a RTS game. This is confusing as screen shots still show the whole desktop. I am not that familiar with linux either.

Scince this isn't my sig rig so here are the the parts that I know,

Riva TNT2 . Viewsonic GS773, Pentuim 2, and ubuntu, all this is inside a dell optiplex server case with what I assume to be a server motherboard and memory.

Thanks,
Aiden

Riva TNT2? I'm not sure if they even have drivers for that... The problem is your driver.

See if you can get your driver through Envy. If not, we'll have to configure your xorg.conf file.

Envy is a program that'll fetch and install graphic drivers for you.

But your GPU is so old, I'm afraid there might not be any drivers for it.

I was looking at nvidia and they have drivers for the riva, turns out there the same as the geforce 2 drivers I use. Now i Just have to install them the hard way...

Also the screen fixed it self after another crash so I will see if the drivers fix the crash, Thanks for the help.
