I Love CRUCIAL - Page 2

I'm not really too sure what straps are, something that I should know. The 1243MHz speed is with a FSB of 417MHz, so whatever strap that is. The timings for that speed are 2T-5-5-5-14-1-2-3-60-2. A shame I can't run that high though, cos of my CPU (have to run at 1118MHz).

Chances are, I just got really highly binned chips.

I know just what you mean, and the most important setting is cpu cycles, so that has to take priority.

Well just for a laugh I did a quick reconfigure, and tried to boot with your settings, actually some of the further down the list ones even looser, at 1240 and it wouldn't post.

The best I can achieve with the single sided ballistix is 5.5.5.15 @ DDR2-950 . Thats with a 1066 strap 10:8 ratio. The performance is actually pretty good, but with the original dual sided it was spectacular! The double side ones I RMA'd where much, much higher clockers.

I fall into the camp that generally, unless lucky as in your case, the newer single sided sticks are a poor replacement, though probably within spec.

Only 950? Ouch. So, they really are that bad.

Sorry, I should have said at my cpu speed, the next setting jumps to 1140 (or something like that, and they are unstable...even when pushed a bit to 2.5v. So that's what I meant to say.

Care to do a swap!

Wow, what I'd do is RMA them back saying they're slower than your old ones and that you want some 16 chip models, you might have to give a credit card number to reserve them, but you should get them.

And 2.5v wow, I hope your mobo is reading it wrong! A .3v increase lol, nice.
