Q6600 G0 high temps under GeminII.... - Page 2

At 3.6Ghz, I fold at 60c, albeit with crappy fans which I'm replacing. Have to reseat too, because when your TIM is out of whack, the fairies in the room die...

I'm running right at about 60C fully loaded (Prime95 small fft), and the room is probably about 65 F or 18 C. So you do look like you're running a bit hot in comparison. I'm also running a Q6600 at 3.4.

What are your idle temps like? I'm at about 30C there. My volts are also a little higher then yours at about 1.35.

For that voltage yes, I would say you're running a bit hot under the collar, seeing as I too have a Gemini II.

Even with my pig of G0 (it has a VID of 1.3125), it barely skims 60C in a room hovering around 75 degrees @ 3.6 with a voltage of 1.5125 (1.45v in CPU-Z, yes, big vDroop).

How long ago did you seat it? What thermal paste? Yada yada... I think you know the Gemini II is a HEAVY cooler (especially with big 38mm fans sitting atop it). Maybe just reseating it could help.

I know for a fact that I'm gonna miss winter and my open window runs as spring is slowly creeping into the Ohio valley.

Good to hear. I'm considering a Geminii for a far-off dream project, so it's good to know it can handle 65nm quad heat (though i'd probably only be throwing 45nm dual heat at it).

What fans are you using on it?

Thanks,
duffsr
