Thats a retarded statement, my $80 IP35-E does 500+MHz fsb. It's not that hard to do, and 1066 MHz rated DDR2 ram is cheap. I am upgrading to 8gb soon

I think I will just get a Q6600. These should drive its price down a little more.

12MB L2 and 45NM make it better than a Q6600, will be faster clock for clock too and supposedly OC better

x8 multi isnt much of a problem anymore even with quads because of the high FSB mobos we have now

but for that price.....

more than $200 for a cpu is too much

So an extra 6MB and 100Mhz?

How come these things are still in the 2.0Ghz+ Range?

Where the hell is the 6Ghz processors?!

If you must have one, go with Tankguys OEM trays in stock

Or better yet Xeon 3350 for about the same $

360 and 380!?! I'm very happy with my decision to not wait and just buy a q6600 now.

depends on what you're doing... My best cache story is a P4 celeron i had going in a render farm. This has 256kb cache (2.93 GHz) vs. 512 (2.4 GHz) of a slower clocked p4.. The p4 was running about 5 minutes per frame, while the celeron turned out an impressive 9+ minutes per frame.

do the math =)
