Thread Starter
First I would like to say that I know very little about HTPC (not sure if my thread is even correct for this section).

What I would like to accomplish is to watch my subscription cable on my PC through Vista's Window's Media Center.

My PC was originally built for gaming, (q6700, 780i, 4GB RAM, 2x 8800GTS in SLI, etc.)

I have a digital cable subscription with Time Warner in which I get lots of channels, including HBO/Showtime.

From reading things that I searched on google, all I need to do is get a TV Tuner and call Time Warner to bring a CableCARD to hook it up with the TV Tuner so that I can access all my channels on my subscription.

Is it as easy as this? Am I missing any steps? How can I find out if my PC supports digital cable? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

First off, as a general rule of thumb, fill out your system specs in "User CP --> Edit System (on left hand side)"

Secondly, I'll be honest, I'm no HTPC guru, but one thing I WOULD look out for is your system. Since I don't know what video card you have or monitor size (you can put that in your rig), I don't know what quality video you'll get. If you have a 8800 series with a 19" you should be ok.
