Well, just throwin this out there...

I just bought a Antec Tri Cool fan today. -first 120 mm w00t-

Its really quiet. 79CFM, 30 dBA, at highest settings.

Its pretty quiet on low, i cant hear it over my other fans...

I've had both, please trust me on this one.

Incidentally, the "Curved blade" Yates are almost identical to the Nexus D12SL, which is arguably the king of the hill amongst silent fans.

The Scythes are nice also, but IMO the yates are as good or close for 1/4th the price. I've owned several Scythe fans as well.
Can you ship to Canada with Petra Tech?

They don't list it in their checkout, but they definitely do ship international, quite a lot as a matter of fact. Just shoot an email to Alex or Quoc and they will take care of it.

I'm not necessarily saying that the "Straight blade" yates are junk, just that the "Curved blade" ones perform better, and quieter as well.

"CURVED" Yate

"STRAIGHT" Yate

Notice that if you look at the blade designs they are two VERY different fans, although they are labeled the same.

Is the D12BL-12 a "Curved Yate"? Because thats the one from the Canadian site which would be more convenient for me.

It is really hard to say without a picture. Evidently the Curved ones are "geniune" and manufactured by Yate loon themselves, and the others are rebadged and sold by Yate loon as the same model fan.

FYI, the D12BL stands for Ball bearing, which is a different (but very similar fan) to the D12SL Sleeve bearing fan commonly found here in the US.

Also, there are three speeds, D12SL, D12SM, D12SH (low, medium, high)

I also have owned quite a few Tri-cools. They are are also excellent fans, but the Curved blade yates/Nexus still hold the crown as far as noise/airflow ratio. The difference between the two is not enough that I would suggest the average person spend the money to switch.
