Can't change the HT Multiplier

Thread Starter
Hi, I'm overclocking my 4200, I CAN get it to a stable 2.7 ghz and I know I can get 3 ghz if I changed the ht multiplier to 4, but when I try click on the HT multiplier it opened it with nothing there and then locked up and i have to reboot, before you say use "-" and "+" you can't change anything because it locks up.

Any help?

Thank you.

Because I have limited knowledge and experience, all I can say is: Use the BIOS to overclock. Do not overclock any other way. It's just a bad idea.

Wait--you're trying to get your CPU to 4.7GHz...? An AMD? Do us a favor and fill in your system specs in your User CP. Then explain what component you're trying to overclock--because I guarantee you, if you're trying to OC an AMD 4200+ or 4200+ X2 to 4.7GHz, you're not going to make it... And I'm pretty sure any other AMD cpu ain't gonna make it to 4.7GHz...

And as Lasagna said--don't OC in software--do so in the bios. I don't know how HTT changes in the OS work on-the-fly... It might result in system instability and crashes. Just FYI.

Oh, I thought you meant 3.7GHz. Well, I hope somebody who knows more than I replies. I know how you feel, dead_joker. You really want this to work.

Welcome to OCN, dead_j0ker.... if you could please fill in your system specs in the User CP, it would be very helpful so we know what components you're using and can give you the assistance you need. Thanks!
