Internet Very Very Slow. Please Help - Page 4

My internet is the same-ish. My internet is fine and then all of a sudden at around 10pm, when you would expect it to go faster, my speeds slow considerably. I was getting around 100KBs in utorrent, I'm now getting around 18KBs.

I know my internet's not the fastest (1.5Mb is max i can have) but this is silly. Oh and i'm with tiscali to, there stealing my bandwidth!!!

A: Eliminate other program issues by starting in safe mode with networking and seeing what speed you get then.

B: Zip and post a HJT log if you want me to look it over for you.

C: If it is that computer only, check your NIC.

D: RUN > CMD > "netstat -b", which will show you any executable or "run/run-once" apps that are hogging resources....

E: Try ipconfig /release, then ipconfig /renew, as well as power cycling your router and modem.

HijackThis... Get it from download.com or just google it.

DON'T make changes using HijackThis unless you know what you are doing.. can seriously screw up your computer.... just run a full scan, save the log file, zip it up and attach it... I will read it for you and let you know if you are infected (which I doubt anyway).

No true spyware, although I consider sidebar and defender worthless. More importantly: default boot? Go clean up msconfig... you also have extra services running... check out Black Viper's services.msc guide (google it). Seems to me you are just still full of bloat, but I don't see anything too concerning. ESP turn off sidebar if you internet is lagging. Regedit: remove the run for "sidebarsidebar.exe" or change the value from 1 to 0.

That could be your problem... Reset services.msc back to default, then disable only TabletPC input service.
