So far I'm leaning towards the Samsung, I'm afraid my graphics card won't be enough for such a high resolution. How well does it display lower resolutions? Will it get all blurry like on my current monitor?

In the near future I plan on ether doing 8800gtx in sli, 9800gtx in sli, or a single 9800gx2. But that's another poll.

Yes, it'll look blurry on any monitor.

I presume you've seen all these monitors at a local retail store, correct?

Never buy a monitor without actually seeing it first.

Your 8600 will have a lot of trouble playing games at 1920 x 1080... If you get a 24", you'll need to upgrade the gfx card. I'd suggest the 9800GTX when it is released, and I highly recommend you NEVER go SLI. It doesn't scale well, it's a waste of money, and at the end of the day when you want to upgrade to the lastest card, you have 2 old cards laying around with nothing to go with.

You might also consider the Samsung 2493HM. The 245BW is being phased out. Howevert, if you don't think you will need the extra HDMI input, then I would go with the 245BW since you get find it around $400 and less now.

I've seen them all, but it doesn't matter because all the monitors were running off a single computer, which was running at 800x600.

The only reason I picked up this board is to do SLI, originally I was planning to get a 8800gtx with my build, and then right before I upgrade to a huge monitor I would pick up another 8800gtx. But I ran out of money.

The stand on the HP alone is worth upwards of $100. It tilts the screen horizontally or vertically (portrait mode) and can keep it high off the desk or literally touching it.
The W2408h only has two inputs which are HDMI and VGA.

If you love color, get the HP. Yes glossy has a reflective screen, but that's the trade off for amazing color.

If you can't stand the reflective coating, the best matte choice would be the Samsung. You can't go wrong with a Samsung.

which is why he should go for a 3870X2 and use hybrid CF instead for the future ATi cards.

sry just had to put in my 2 cents about gfx cards

My vote is for the Samsung, I got one and it's got a sharp picture and looks nice too (it doesnt blur on 1440 and up). Best monitor I've seen so far, you'll be amazed.
