I've heard that the HP produces the best picture and colors. I haven't had experience with any of them, though.

I suggest you go to a store, check them out, and see for yourself.

The Samsung's have better contrast ratio. They also make the glass for most Sony lcd's, and Sony charges more based on the electronics and software driving the screens. So you know you're getting quality with a Samsung lcd.

That's exactly what I do. I use my custom setting for most everything, and dynamic contrast for gaming and videos.
