There are some new characters and plenty of fan favorites too, such as Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith. However, the characters you're most likely to empathize with are unlikely ones, including protagonist Zack, and Sephiroth, who is complex, troubled, and even sometimes likable. The way their personal stories weave in and out of each other--and set the stage for the events in Final Fantasy VII--makes Crisis Core not just the finest role-playing experience available on the PSP, but also one of the best Japanese RPGs in years.

Video Review

I agree 100% with their review.
The game is amazingly fun and sucks you in. Im very greatfull that Square decided to go back and do a prequal as Zack is truly one of the most under appreciated video game characters of all time until now.

The one thing that I knowticed about the game is the long load times for me and my Slim PSP. But, I bet money I can easily reduce the loading times AND the power consumption by ripping the game and putting it on my memory stick instead of using the UMD.

You're right, load times are non existant after I ripped the UMD, literally when the word "loading" appears, it dissapears.

I never played the game on Normal, but on Hard the game is pretty challenging since some enemies can kill you in one shot if you're not careful. And when there's a swarm of stronger enemies

By the way, did anyone see X-Play's review on this game? It was downright horrible (giving it a 2/5) and you can easily tell that they didn't play much of it at all since they only showed clips of the very beginning. And right after they showed their picks of good Final Fantasy games but they said you should get Final Fantasy 6, yet they showed clips of Final Fantasy IV. It makes me embarrassed for my friend that interns there

Yeah I started off on hard too, I was surprised that square-enix actually made hard mode hard
And yeah the x-play review was one of the worst review's I've ever seen in my life.

I don't like Xplay's reviews. They tend to be biased alot and quite frankly I don't even think the hosts even play the games themselves. Though, I love the show in general because it's hilarious.

The enemies can swarm very easily but - if you take advantage of the dodge alot... it's no problem. I have problems with machine gunners alot lol.

Omg yeah those machine gunners are irritating, like when you get hit by them you can't even move, thank god for dodge roll and wall
I'm about to do the nibelheim scene, I cannot wait! The ending is going to be really sad though

Who? GS?
Gamespot has had some really really bad problems with their staff - all their good people quit after 1 guy got fired for some legal issues in his personal life. But their word written review was detailed enough for me.
