Either way, I would get the original discs from work. Take them home, put the first one in your drive, tell the BIOS to boot from your CD/DVD drive first, then try installation.

If you don't have the original discs, I'd rule that out as the possible culprit first.
i did the combining at work. i even tested it by installing Vista on one of the work machines and it went smooth as butter. this is my first time trying to install Vista 64 and neither the DVD or 4 original cds work for me.

f this. im getting the torrent.

i have a legal license and everything. its not my fault the media wont work.

Actually, I'm all over the OS section in general. I enjoy software now more than I do hardware. If you go to "Find More Posts by The Hundred Gunner," you'll see that probably 70-80% of my posts are in the OS section.

You can also download the ISO of the Vista DVD from M$. Its called like the Vista Anytime Upgrade or something. Then just use your LEGIT product key.
