Windows vista stuck on loading screen loop with bars

Hi,

My computer is stuck at the loading screen. The bars keep passing but doesnt go anywhere. The other problem I have is that when i boot in safe mode it wont load as it shows its booting all the files and then just stops. I tried loading the disk but it ends up looping through the loading screen. I recently installed 2 ccfl lights. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

sounds like files got corrupted in my opinion.

You probably need to reformat, easiest way is to put it in another machine as a slave and do it. unplug all unnecessary hardware also.

But did you try booting from the disc? If you can get into it, try doing a repair.
Might be an unstable overclock.

Absolutely, reset CMOS to default before a reinstall. Except of course set the CD drive as the first boot device.

I agree with fst, reset the CMOS then format.

If you have another computer, try putting the HD in (as secondary device, not the bootup one) and do an error check (right click HD, properties, tools, error check).. could be a corrupted file. Always better than reformatting!

This happens to me EVERY time i have an unstable overclock. It's a pain, but just set your boot device to cd, boot the cd and do a vista repair. works every time for me. Also, don't forget to reset the cmos.
