680i boards esp. the p5n32-e sli board are notorious for this.
I had 3 of them constantly do this.
Often a bios reset and leave machine powered off for a long while fixes it.

The pci-e slots often fail on them also,ask a retailer for the list of most common 680i faults.

I have the p5n32 btw, should put that in my sig as well....

hmm, it doesn't matter what RAM I use, that fourth slot does not want to work at all. It's rather annoying,

I think I'll do what you suggest, if that doesn't work (leaving off for a while/resetting cmos a million times), would you guys suggest buying a new mobo or just working with 3?

If you suggest a new mobo, what particularly?

I hate how my RAM is now running in single channel mode (timings 4-4-4-12), I doubt it matters though, it'll still be better than 2 GB.
