Vista x64 or XP Pro x64

Thread Starter
I have a special delivery coming which contains a 9800gx2 and 8gigs of Corsair Dominators. I want to ask whether I should *get* Xp Pro x64 for its fastness, or Vista x64 for its DX10? I have Crysis and Portal, so I want to get the most out of them.

Vista x64 is the better choice. There are much better drivers for it, and you will not notice any difference in speed between XP and Vista with those specs anyway.

Well you have enough RAM, so just go with vista x64. And I HIGHLY doubt you can play crysis with an 8400GS. You can probably play portal on low though.

Vista X64. Faster,Better driver support. DX10...just to name a few. I would just go Vista X64.

Oh and 8GB of RAM is a little senseless at the moment for a desktop machine.

Crysis just about runs on all the low settings with about 25fps... lol

Vista x64 has been a smooth ride for me so far . Drivers are great, it is responsive, looks cool and clean, plus DX10 is pretty sweet.

I did have Vista Ultimate x64 but switched back to Pro for speed issues. With the upgrade I guess I could go back =P

I'd also like to commend the site on how quick this thread was answered to.

i would go with vista x64. I have it and everything you hear is blown out of context. If you have a problem, you can google it and fix it, or go on OCN and get help. Plus, its great eye candy.
