Just got another monitor on my 8800gts 640mb

I made this thread to ask you how to make the desktop on each monitor be the same by having the windows toolbar and start menu on both monitors while still being in the extended desktop mode. I have windows vista btw. I went to display settings and tried to fiddle around with it but i can't get the start menu on my desktop to go on both monitors.

Also, when i am playing a game, i want to be able to browse the internet when i waiting to respawn. When i load the game on one monitor and then open up the internet on the other monitor, the game i am playing minimizes to the windows toolbar. So my questions are these:

1. How do i get the windows toolbar on both monitors?

2. How am i able to run the game on one monitor and browse the internet on the other monitor without the game minimizing to the windows toolbar?

Thanks in advanced,
and the other monitor is a compaq 7550 17inch crt.

1.) That can't be done using windows functionality only. You need something like Ultramon. I think they now have a Vista beta.

2.) That depends on the game. Most, if not all, modern high end games take video control away from Windows and do all the screen writing themselves. With that scenario, Windows has no control over what goes onto which monitor, the game controls that. There are a few games that have multi monitor support built in, but generally they don't because the game developers are trying to get the best output for their games, and adding multi monitor support just defeats that objective.

Thanks. That is exactly what i was looking for. I had 2 monitors before and i found out i had ultramon on my computer already so everything is good now.

I found a way to run a game and browse the internet at the same time. When i am playing css or tf2, you make it run in a window and just drag the internet to the other screen and it works out perfectly.
