going watercooling need help finding case and parts - Page 3

Couple of things:

1) Ira, do you really think the D-5 is a better choice than an DDC 3.2 (MCP355) with an XSPC top?

2) I need to do a test to prove it to Ira, however the push fan may not be best. However, I think he only recommended a pull to you.

3) You can fabricate a shroud using tubing as a spacer (even PVC tubing!!!) and duct tape as a wrap. We are talking minimal pressures here.

4) It is not clear, at least to me, that the Cosmos S, which I have been looking at, will fit 38mm fans, a shroud, and the 2+ inch GTX radiator above the motherboard. It may, but it looks like it may not. The combination is over 4.5" thick.

Yeah I like the D-5 better, you don't have to buy an extra top for it and the 18W DDC have been de-tuned now, they are not the pump they were...The old orange impeller 18W DDC were about the perfect WC'ing pump I think...I loved running 2 in series, they were better then a RD-30 at 18vdc if not as durable...If people would quit buying the de-tuned 18W pumps Laing might bring the performace back....

Push or pull on a rad really depends on the rad...Thinner or lower fin per inch rads it doesn't seem to matter as much if you push or pull...Thicker higher fin per inch rads seem to do better with a pull and best with a push-pull...I'd use a shroud on either configuration...

Looks like the exact setup I'm going to get, with the exception of the case and the t-line. Let me know how yours turns out, temps, etc. Also, lots of pics are required...
