The only real problem I see with the E6550 is the low multi. It has a 7 multi running a default 333 FSB at 2.33GHz. So just to run it at 3.2GHz, you will need to run a 458 FSB!

here are the E6550 specs from Intel

What motherboard do you have?

That 7x multi is an OC killer, man. It's still a good chip, just not a great OC'er.

I have the same board as you and I can get my e6550 to 3.2 easily. Anything pass 3.2 and it won't boot.

I am not to sure about the 6300 but i wouldn't think it would be better because it has a 7 multi also.

Sounds to me like there is.

Did you click on my link? It is for the E6550.

Intel does not make an E6650. Here are all the Core 2 Duo Desktop CPUs:

can you please post a link to your source. If your quote is from an old article, my guess is Intel might have speculated on an E6650, but they never released one.
