But of course, just about no one on this forum will realize this, and now think they have some sort of leverage to use against mac "people"..

You realize thats how ALL operating systems are now right? Straight out of the box theres virtually no way to take windows, Mac OSX, and linux over. There was a period for this in the contest, none of the hackers even bothered trying on all three of the operating systems they knew it wasn't going to happen.

Mac OSX comes with Safarii, Windows comes with internet explorer, and linux (generally firefox)

Apple has a hole, if vista would have been hacked first, through IE, the Mac fanboys would of been relentless on Microsoft. Had this been a third party software, not made by Apple, then your point is valid. If the browser comes with the operating system its as good as part of the operating system. If IE has a hole, its as good as Windows having a hole. Mac OSX lost period. I'm not rubbing it in, but a certain degree of reaction from the computer community can be expected when Apple hails itself as having the safest system out there.

Thats the joy of having ethical hackers .
As does pretty much every OS manufacturer.

Not only that- If an exploit in any valid/respected/nonviral program can open the computer up to foreign control it shows serious security flaws in the OS itself.

This really gives no indication on how secure any operating system is. All he did was come to the competition more prepared than everyone else. He had his hack on a website set up for him just to visit and execute. We have no idea how much time was taken before the competition to set up the exploit.

The way you put the quotes around people implies that you question whether or not mac people are actually people(not human? ).

I don't mean to offend. I got a laugh out of it and though someone else might appreciate it

Blinders off and all - that's the thing to note.
