Saying that "OSX is a really bad OS" implies a factual statement. The word "is" happens to be the keyword here. Now, if you wish to make it evident that it is your opinion, you would have to reword your statement: "I think/feel/believe that OSX is a really bad OS" or "I don't like OSX or any of Apple's products".

If you don't like my opinion (or what you think I state as fact) that refute it. Don't attack me or my words. Tell me why I am wrong about OSX.

Was that sarcasm or a joke or something? Paul, your posts are the quintessential overstatements.

You made the claim, you give US the explanation. Burden of proof, my friend.

Heh, what do you know... Look at me, I can't stop. FM.

The article is my evidence. Your rebuttal requires some evidence of its own.

The article simply proves that OSX is no better than Windows, and vice-versa. It it no way implies that OSX is a terrible OS. You need to remember that apple is a smaller company, with fewer resources - so it should be expected that MS is patching things faster. You also have the issue of priority, Windows security issues are much more likely to be exploited than OSX ones, simply due to Windows having the far larger user database.

Furthermore, the article completely omits the number of vulnerabilities on the Microsoft side. Second, since Apple utilizes more open source technology the number of known flaws will be higher.

I find it kind of silly that the article I posted has to be used by Paul as evidence. Also, he completely ignored my last post that was directed at him.

Are you lost?

You said OSX is really a bad OS.

The article talks about who patches security flaws faster. That's the only thing that determines whether or not an OS is good? Hm. Interesting.

They seem to have plenty of resources to piss off anyone who has seen more than a couple of their ads, not to mention to blow off support for Java, Firefox (Some article about they intentionally were slowing it down?) and many other Applications and Hardware.

If it was just the operating system itself being sold, and they had it to compete with windows and actually supported more applications and hardware, I would support them 100%...but the fact is is that they propritarize (Don't know exactly how to explain in one word all of their proprietary hardware, software, etc, etc) everything, and overcharge you for it.

And to Gunner - You make alot better points than most of the people against you, and definitely have my respect...but you need to be more open to others opinions if you want them to be open to yours...I remember when you said that iLife and iMusic were better than their windows counterparts, which, like the OS argument I frequently see you in ( ), one of the sides say it's a fact that it's worse, and the other says it is based on opinion...just remember that liking OSX is an opinion, as is liking WMP11
Laptop...awesome.

That makes absolutely no sense. This was not about who catches the problem first, but who fixes it on the same day the exploit/bug/whatever was found and how often they are able to do this.
