You should be able to hit 3GHz with virtually any board that supports overclocking a Q6600. Heck, I got 2.97GHz with my old Abit AB9 Pro

so i'm getting the p5n-e sli,my current asus board has never failed me.

Damn, there is a rediculous premium you have to pay for Nvidia products (you get double whacked when you go A$U$ + Nvidia).

I think you are mistaken. The Abit IP35-E costs only $89.99 and has a 30 rebate for a total of $59.99. Where the he11 did you get $250 from?
