my lappy is a
compact c700

i would just like to know would it be worth a try to overclock it or should i just leave everything in a laptop alone lol
PS:never had a laptop before that is why im asking

I don't believe you can overclock it anyways because it is a compaq.

I don't recommend overclocking your laptop, its going to overheat... fast.

maybe a windows based program like ClockGen might work with your laptop

No no no no....!
It's a bad idea to overclock laptops anyways.

You COULD try to perform a pin-mod.
It involves forcing one of the pins on the CPU to a certain electrical state, tricking the system into using a higher front side bus.
It can be performed on a Pentium M based machine to make a 400 MHz FSB processor run at 533 MHz FSB - a 33% overclock.
However, people have been having problems using it to make the 533 MHz Core/Core 2-based processors run at 667 Mhz - namely, the multiplier gets stuck at 6x.

Plus, as mentioned above, the best response to whether or not you should overclock a laptop is still DON'T,
