So, if you half-press to initiate AF, turn the ring to adjust focus and try and completely press the shutter, it re-focuses?

That makes me wonder if my collection is still at the homestead. Mine goes from the mid 60s to the early 2000s (my dad started it ). National Geographic is one cultural tidbit that goaded me into photography to begin with.
