Nvidia hasn't released a new product since the 9600GT. I do not understand in any way how the 9600GT is so good with a substantially cut down G92 core, while the 9800GTX is terrible with a full core. Buy two 9600GT's and SLI them. Cheaper and miles better than a 9800GTX. For the price of a 9800GX2 you could SLI three 9600GT's and buy a SLI Motherboard.

NVidia will presumably make an actual technical step forward eventually, probably after they are clobbered by the 4870x2.
i grabbed me 2 9600gt you cant tri-sli'em though.......

Actually the 320mb has 96 SP. The only G80 card that has 112 SP is the 8800gts 640Mb SSC card from evga and a BFG Superclocked 640 that I know of and teh BFG on Newegg is $260 after MIR and the EVGA is $199 after MIR, so the 8800GTs can be found under $200, so the 8800GT could still be considered the best performance for price.

The 9800 series are for people with older video cards that do not want to mess with overclocking or want a new product...omg that is so hard to understand! Seriously, you people that do nothing but ***** about every little thing for anything that comes out that does not measure up to your spoiled standards simply make me sick. They should make forced neutering legal.

8800GT's can be had for ~$150, where are you getting the 9k vs 15k scores, you lost me on that one....

I just don't know why NVIDIA didn't name this series the 8900s (probably because of money, people will think these new cards are SOO much better than the 8800). As others have said, its just a small improvement on the G92 core really. When GT200 comes out, they should have have gone to the 9xxx series imo.

why aren't they making 9x00 series with more than 512MB of RAM (Excluding the 9088GX2, I will never buy a dual core gfx card)

Personally all the reviews I have read my Dual 8800GT Bios modded to SSC still performs close enough to the 9800 series that its worth more to wait until the next series comes out seeing that one 8800gt can run any game on the market in mostly high settings.
