Decrease load times. You ever play oblivion? And notice that you could take a nap while it loads up? A Raptor could help alleviate that problem. Also makes installing/downloading(don't quote me on downloading) a little bit faster.

Like Clinic said, it only helps games in terms of load times. So for games like Oblivion its really nice. I noticed big difference between playing it on the raptor and on the 7200rpm drive in my family's computer.

Basically I'm using my raptor for Vista, games, and benchmarks. Everything else is on my bigger 7200rpm Samsung.

So basically, the moral of the story is this: Grab your raptor, have windows boot from it, install any games that are really load difficult onto it (or any games you fancy), and then call it done. Don't install anything else on it. They are small for a reason.

yeap... Load times do indeed increase dramatically

By the way... what kind of 250GB drive is that you have now? An alternative solution is to add a second (identical) one for a RAID0 array.

But.. gotta love those Raptors!

It won't matter for downloading.. I have yet to see an internet connection fast enough to beat any middle of the road hard drive

Lol.

Another thought is to look into the Seagate 7200.11 (insert size here) harddrives. Excellent speed, with obviously more room to move with.

I will probably go with Regular, I don't care too much about extra money vs wait time.
