Results: Overclocking the Q9450

Thread Starter
Well, I have spent the last 4 hours or so tweaking around pretty much blindly in the BIOS, trying to get a FSB that 1) Posts 2) Loads Vista and 3) Runs enough programs for me to cap it and upload it, and the best I can do boys and girls is 3.5 GHz. I am going to try to fine tune it using software, but as far as BIOS OCing, I am done for the processor

Now on to the RAM and VGA

Is the vcore correct? You have it at 3.5GHz with 1.26v vcore? What was the highest vcore you tried when OCing?

I tried as high as 1.38, but most of the time I did 1.30 or 1.35. I think the bios has it set to 1.30 right now.

[edit]

I should also mention that there was a close call at 3.6. I got windows to boot, but as soon as I opened up the folder with all my OCing programs, it BSODed on me.

I agree and wish to subscribe to your newsletter. My system however, politely disagrees.

Seriously, if you have any tips to give, I am all ears. I am going to switch over to the laptop so I can tweak around a little more.
