DFI X38 + Q6600 G0 Journey!

Thread Starter
Well as the title says anyone with any experience with the DFI X38 + Q6600. Well anyone with advice is welcome!

Ok well I have my cpu stable at 3.7 @ 1.47v I can boot up @ 3.9 @ 1.52v but not stable. (for those of you wondering why on earth I want more than 3.7, I dont want a 24/7 oc higher than 3.7 I just want to see what this chip can do afterall this is overclock.net )

Okay heres what my voltages are set at. keep in mind I never had to deal with some of these voltages before.

Vcore - 1.47v
Dram - 2.270v
SB - stock 1.510v
NB - 1.456v
CPU VTT - Stock 1.211v

Now I am still learning and I bet some voltages are keeping me from booting any higher (if nothing works, I will stop knowing I hit a wall)

Any help would be appreciated before I mess something up playing with random voltages

Can't wait to see the outcome of this as I'll be doing the same soon

The amount of voltage you need per Mhz goes up as your speed goes up. You may want to try 1.55 just to see if it works, keep in mind I wouldn't run it at that for more than like 1 hour.

Yea I got that part down, its the other voltages that confuse me.

I tried dropping the multi to 8 and tried a fsb of 450 (3.6) and just tried booting up and monitor had no signal.

I heard FSB holes are rare on newer mobos, but I am not sure how true it is.
Should I try a higher FSB and see if its possibly a hole?

I will try a higher voltage for the NB Thanks for the suggestion.

Okay heres where I am now. I put in my spare quad, and I am able to load into XP @ 4ghz with 1.5550v

Now I am trying to learn VTT Voltage and 67% GTL settings
http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3129&p=12

So I am using minor OC 3ghz

Vcore - 1.34v
Dram - 2.230v
SB - 1.510v
NB core - 1.345v
CPU VTT - 1.211v

CPU GTL REF Vol - 84

CPU GTL REF Vol - 83

NB REF Volt - 91

Everything is stable so far, I am about to try 3.6 and try and see how well everything goes.
