Help!! Can't OC Q6600 at all!! P5N32-E SLI

Thread Starter
I have a new G0 Q6600 just purchased it, I had the e6600 before and could OC to 3.0 ghz easily, stable! I have 4gigs of OCZ gold DDR800.... I'm using an Asus p5n32-e SLI... I heard this wasn't the best OC'ing motherboard.

I have tried many times now to do 9x1332 etc even less with no luck, tried upping voltage, lowering memory timings.

My computer won't post! at any OCing..... then I have to hit reboot again and it just goes to "auto" ... or if it does post, for some reason it doesn't actually save or use any of the new FSB/OC'd settings.... AGHRRRR!!!!!!! Driving me crazy...

Any ideas? I've upgraded to latest BIOS too.

I've got the same board as you bud, you'll need the 1203 BIOS revision to OC at all, and you won't be able to OC much if at all with this board! Sorry

I would reset you bios to defaults. Then start real slow. There is a change that you could of messed something up in the beginning. Run memtest on your ram to make sure that is working as well.

I really got to sell this thing, any recommendations on a comparable board with a different chipset that can OC well? I heard p5k deluxe was good choice?

I had horrible issues with the 680i P5N32-E. I couldnt get the board to post with any hardware in it. I was so mad I switched to x38 P5E! I am a huge fan of Asus, but I think they made a huge mistake with that motherboard.

Since getting my ASUS motherboard I've sworn them off, their quality is junk. I've gone through of these in a month.

So I'd recommend this.

^---Go with what he is recommending, its sex in a box.

I will never use another Asus board after getting violated by my old P5N-E SLI. Go ahead and go with the P5K if your really wanting to go Asus. But believe it or not, there are other manufacturers out there.

Abit IP35-E, or Pro I would recommend in a heartbeat as well.

People around here swear by the DS3/L/R too.

My P5K-Deluxe overclocked my Q6600 higher than any other board I've owned. 3.825GHz on water with less than 1.5v. My P5N32-E SLI was an incredible overclocker for my dual core they just aren't best for quads is all.
