How am I doing on my Athlon X2 4000+ OC??

Thread Starter
I have:
Athlon X2 4000+, brisbane
2x1GB of this crucial DDR667 RAM
ASUS M2A-VM

Anyways, I pushed it up to 2.67Ghz with
CPU- 1.35V (stock voltage is 1.3V), 10.5x, Bus speed: 254mhz
RAM- 2.1V (originally 1.8), 380mhz
HT Link: 1269Mhz

Orthos runs fine. After running orthos for 15min, CPU temp is 55C (stock HSF). Idle is about 42C. These temps are from the BIOS, not speedfan.

Is 55C on load too high??

Should I scale the cpu voltage back to 1.325V?

what frequency is your ram running at? and was that extra ram voltage necessary? Your cpu voltage is perfectly fine, but another increase voltage would put you near the limit of your oc. Keep the load temps under 60.

If you bought an aftermarket hsf, you could push it further. Its a good investment as you can get one for about $20

If I push it to 1.450V, how long will the lifetime of my processor be??

I am afraid that it will cripple my processor's life span
