Show Me The Light! DFI DK P35 - No Boot/Post

Thread Starter
As the title explains, i've swapped my Asus board out for the new DFI P35 DK jobby, but it's just not playing ball.

I have tried to boot it inside and outside my case.

I have tried with 4 different sticks of RAM in almost every possible combination.

I have tried without the 8-pin power connector plugged in - this only made my CPU Fan spin faster

I have tried with and without HD and Optcal Drives.
I have re-seated my CPU (numberous times if you include the Asus switch-back)

I have since re-installed my old Asus board to be greeted by Windows and its "New Hardware Detected, Please Re-Activate" message - So surely it's been recognised as a new board but... Just not showing? This leads me to believe that I have a board with a duff PCI-E slot.. Or something.

I just tried the DFI again (after the Asus & Windows boot) but nothing. It's currently sat outside my case and i've got no idea what to do.

Should I call Scan and RAM this board? Or am i being totally oblivious to something really simple..?

HELP! (& Thanks)

Have you reset CMOS? Made sure the CMOS jumpers (both near the GFX card and near the I/O panel are in the right spot? Made sure the GFX card is seated all the way? Try without the front panel pins hooked up? made sure to power the GFX card?

edit: I would reset CMOS (may need to leave the reset jumper hooked up for a full 2 minutes and don't forget to pull the power when resetting), install one stick of RAM and GFX to see if she'll post.

FYI, You shouldn't try to boot w/o the 8pin. It will never boot, even if the mobo is working.

I only tried without the 8-pin to see if the alarmy thing would go off, but nothing.

I have reset CMOS, and checked both jumpers, aye.

GFX card is fully seated and fully powered. I even plugged in my old GFX HSF just to check, and it was fine.

I am assuming everything spins and the 2 yellow LEDs (one near the LAN port and one near RAM slots) both light up?

LAN port? Not one there no, but the one inbetween the RAM slots comes on, and another below the lowest PCI slot, above the fan header...

Should i have one by the LAN port too?

eh wig i think u've done enough trouble shooting there mate. call it what it is now DOA. i would return the board and get another unless you're calling it quits on DFI. i've read ur other post about it and it seems too me that the board just isn't responding to voltage. i mean u've already takin it out of the case and u tried it on ur original asus board and it works. gl to ya.
