To 9 Series, or not to 9 series....

Thread Starter
Hello all,

Well I am putting together my new system at the moment and I am in the middle of debating which graphics card would best for me.

I am gaming on a 40 in LCD at 1920x1080 resolution.
I had the idea of maybe getting the 9600 gt and maybe doing some SLI. Is it possible to tri-sli with a 9600?

So my question is among the following which would be the best bet for my new system. I am also keeping in mind that the new series of Nvidia cards are on target for around August, and I will be upgrading to that.

So my current choices are ..
9800gtx
9600gt SLI
8800GT 512 SLI
8800GTS 512 SLI

Thanks in advance.

well, the 9800gtx is right out, because all it is is a rebranded 8800gts.

so, if you want the most performance, the 8800gts 512 SLI is the best option, but for price/performance/leetness I'd go with 9600gt's in SLI, just because i think they're cool

No Tri SLI for 9600GT. All options in your list are G92 so I would stay what you have.

I agree I doubt you will get much from going from 2 640MB GTS to 2 G92 GTS. That's just me though.
