best render method for 8800gtx sli

SLI performance mode:


1)single-GPU

2)force split frame

3)AFR-1

4)AFR-2

What should I be using?

Single GPU is the one recommended by Nvidia, I would just use that, the others dont see much or anything in the way of gains.

hummm I'm not quite sure what single-gpu does....from the sounds of it it could be OK or very bad.

OK= both GPUs act as one very powerful single GPU

Very bad = no benifit at all as you only use 1 GPU

Would have been nice for them to be a little more elaborate in the notes field.

Well games that support sli, have a profile setup in the drivers, so when the game is loaded it picks the predetermined setting by nvidia. For games that dont support sli, just try them out and see what works best.

Single GPU is the default setting, but each individual game has its own profile that should best determine the prefered rendering method. You may of course override these settings and see if you can find one that suits a particular game better then the default settings.
