Need some help overclocking

Thread Starter
OK ive posted a few other times about this and tried ever response i got back

I have a Athlon 64 3200 on a ecs rs482m and it just stops overclocking at 2219mhz

I cant control the HT multiplier at all so it climes way up to 1109.7mhz
I have done my research and know that the HT cant go any higher but i would like more overclock without having to get a new broad.

Correct me if im wrong but i have head the the HT is also called LDT and i have control over that in 200mhz incriminates all the way to the HT's stock 1ghz mark
so if i dropped that down to say 800 instead of 1ghz it should lower my HT down and let my bus speed go up.]

I really appreciate any help

you need to increase volts to push it farther.

without downing the HT link i'd guess you'll not see much more of an OC

That i Know the HT wont go down with any setting other than bus speed but there has to be a way i think its the LDT but im not sure

LDT (Lightning Data Transport) = HT (HyperTransport Link)

If you can change the multiplier on this, then that's the ticket.

Just to clarify my earlier post: The LDT IS the HT, but by another name. If there is a setting for LDT multiplier, then that will adjust your HT multiplier.

Suggestion: Perhaps you can take digi-pics of your various BIOS screens. From these we can hopefully point out the correct setting to adjust (if it's there).

Good luck!

Just put it down to 800mhz- dropping that setting should lower your HT.

Also, the limit for your HT depends on your board usually, and 1100 is not necessarily the limit. This mobo, for example, hits 1500mhz stable on the HT. ECS boards aren't great for OCing though, you'll need some more voltage to get a good overclock (which most, if not all, ECS boards lack).
