Ways to attach fans

Thread Starter
Well I got an OCZ XTC Memory Cooler and it doesn't fit on my mobo. So ive decided to take out the 2 60mm fans and use them. I have a GA-965P-DS3P rev 3.3 and i want to place one of the fans on top of my northbridge heatsinik and one on top of my ram.

Has anybody got ways I can do this? If you have done it yourself could i please show me some pics or explain it?

Thanks.

Zipties, Superglue and maybe a strip of duck tape will do wonders. Duck tape is best on the Ram, since it can grab onto the flat surfaces best. Zipties may work on chipset, otherwise you may need to crazy glue it on.

Hmmm...

My only concern (which may be invalid) is whether or not the heat off of the heatsink might melt the adhesive (even crazy glue) and cause havoc by having a loose fan inside the case.

I have used a chain of several long zip ties to secure a fan by bringing the ties completely around the motherboard.

The heat won't melt the superglue. Your northbridge would melt before that stuff went.

Your ram will warm up the duck tape, but it will only make it hold stronger and I doubt itt'l exceed 250ºF and still work, so it won't damage the tape either.
