The actual northbridge chip is quite small so there is always some part of the heatsink that hangs over the edge.
If you're looking at the motherboard in the case you would run one thin zip tie underneath the left side of the heatsink from top to bottom just to the right of the mounting screw. Then just loop it up and over and through the mounting holes of the fan. You may need two depending on the length but they're easy enough to combine.
Then do the same for the other side.
It's probably best to do this without the CPU heatsink and video card installed simply because it'll give you more room to work. You may also run into some clearance issues if your CPU heatsink hangs out over your northbridge heatsink so be prepared to have the new northbridge fan a bit off center.
