Yup, board works, p5ne-sli, 1 8800gt pny, working great, non overclocked yet 10k 3dmark06's.

If you're having trouble try what he did, pull the selector card and boot it up, then shut down, put the selector card back in, and it should still boot.

Amazing this thread has been brought back from the dead!

My experience in solving this (Or it solving itself) is the same as Mikan's

ok!!! Solved!!! Put the sli selector back in after shutting down from booting from having the selector card out and bingo!!! So probably the bios was looking for an sli config from my previous setup and not seeing the card selected as single. Stupid selector cards.
I didn't have an SLI setup, but booting without the selector card and then rebooting with it in the correct position seemed to work, eventually. It's the only thing I can think of that may be the fix as I was messing about with this for days, tried loads of configurations and installing both the selector and 8800gt card in and out (and almost in the bin!).

Sorry I can't be of much more help, I can't replicate it again as I've gone over to the red side for my gaming rig and don't have the 8800 either...

Yeah I'm about 6 months to a year behind the curve. I got this card off ebay for like $60, so was really wondering if it would work or not. I was about to ask the seller for a refund since it wouldn't work in the original system I wanted it for an asrock board that I found out only has 1.0 pci-e compliance.

I tried it in the p5n-e just to see if it would work, cause it was the only board I have I knew it should work in, and ran into this problem. I had to disassemble my cheapo 8600gt sli setup on it that I got for less than $50. lol
It's only cause I didn't believe it was a bad card that I went searching for solutions on google and found this thread. So thanks bunch's.

Hehe red side

I had another p5n-e that wouldn't post but ran fans just like that. I had to get a replacement board. I wonder if this trick would work it it now, but leery to try it with a new processor since I'm fairly sure the processor died on it, tested it in a new board and such and didn't post.
