Suicide voltage e2180 - Page 4

I'm curious what heatsink you'll be using (or fabricating...?)

Right all, lets all tell the guy what we've already told him.

Temperatures aren't everything. Voltage can kill a chip much easier than temperature.

You are either

a. rich, someone who cannot be bothered what happens to their cpu, and possibly rest of their rig

b. stupid, someone who doesn't know the risks of overvolting.

I just checked XS, the guy who did the 1.78 had disabled one core.

Henry, I run my e6700 at 1.45 360x10 most of the time. If you use 'reasonable' (think AC Fr7 Pro or better) you should be able to go up to about 1.4875v without too much difficulty. The OP wants to go up to 1.8V. That's suicide.

IMO anything over 1.6 is just stupid.

I see no purpose in suicide runs, unless you are just wanting to blow the thing up.

If you are trying to burn the chip out, I want you to get it running that high, and then take the heatsink off and run away with a video camera recording the whole thing.

That would make my day.

do you think i am stupid i am not going to put my chip on 2.0 and hope for the best. i am going to monitor temps and calculate a safe voltage to use for a short period.
remember this is a suicide run on air
not the same as a suicide run on phase or water

Suicide voltage means just that, not 20 minutes. YMMV.
No one can tell you that. Use what you think the chip can take.
1.6v-1.8v.

Chances are you'll wall the chip before the voltage limit comes into affect, so it's pointless on those chips anyway.
There is a way to extreme cool you comp. Open the side window and get an air condition and blow it directly to you mobo. I think it will extreme cool your comp.

few people mentioned air con units, I have ever been in a house with one sunny england for you.

So as far as vCore goes about 1.45 is a safe bet?
Look forward to seeing what you get out of yours willbushby!
I will probably push mine as far as I can when I buy a new CPU in a year or so, just for the hell of it

@Dotard isn't stock around 1.25v?

@Silver_WRX02
Thats listed as one of the best ways to phase change a computer without massive cost. The main drawbacks are:
If you haven't sealed your system and removed all moisture, some water might condense, short circuit, and bye bye system.
Whilst CPU's love the cold, quite a bit of the motherboard (though not all) does not. Therefore, you will not get the extreme cooling you want.
