Suicide voltage e2180 - Page 5

Like was already said, voltage can kill a chip far before temps will. 1.7v will cripple your chip quick if you're unlucky, or it may not. Hell, 1.6v might. I can run 1.6v 24/7 if I want to on my E2140, some will instantly black screen and never work again. Depends on the chip and there is no safe way to figure out what is safe.

remember this is a suicide run on air
not the same as a suicide run on phase or water

Suicide on air is a good way to kill a chip on air cooling.
Suicide on phase is a good way to kill a chip on phase cooling.
2 OP pls nerf

voltage alone, can kill a chip (so what ive heard) therefore.(correct me if im wrong) even if your running it at -5C, extreme voltage will do damage

Nailuj, you are right. OP, you have not listened to many/any of us. Can you just clarify to all of us, why are you even doing this?

I see no reason for a 20 minute overclock of around ~150mhz higher, whilst killing your chip in the process.

Voltage increases, damage occurs. This was a major issue on the northwood core p4s, google Sudden Northwood Death Sydrome. This has also been seen on the Wolfdales, and I remember seeing this on a few conroe help threads on the EOCFs, written by some pretty crazy oc'ers.

When the voltage is too high, electromigration occurs, and whilst it does not make it any less stable instantly, the overclocks and system stability decrease massively over time, effectively ruining the chip.
