Thanks for the tips. Bumping the HTT brought initial stability and loosening the ram permitted me to not only to run memtest w/o a failure, but I ran OCCT for 8 hours last night at 2600Ghz. Core temps were 48C with a 1.5Vcore. Tonight calls for another try at 2700+. More news at 11...

Okay, I just finished lapping the TTBT up to 800 grit and strapped it back on to the 3200+. How tight do you snug the Big Typhon down? It's big and heavy and on its side. Having driven VWs most of my life it makes me want to take a 13mm wrench and tighten the hell out of it...

Wsail, I've never owned a big typhon so I can't speak from experience. I'll ask one of my buddies to chime in and hopefully he can shed some light on your question. I'm guessing that you tighten it down until it's snug but I would probably try and avoid from wrenching it. Probably don't want to strip the threads

Good luck

When I ran my Big Typhoon, I just tightened the mounting bolts down as tightly as possible. And this was a Big Typhoon over a naked die...

Absolutely no harm was done.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Joe. I wrenched it down and what a difference it's made. I'm running the single core 3200 at 2780 steady and it doesn't go past 46C (OCCT temp) under full load (ite smart guardian shows 7C less). Wow.

Anyone have any recommendations on max voltage on a SLI-DR Expert? I'm trying to hit 2900 with my 3200+ and Vcore is right about 1.6 (1.55*1.072) fluctuating about .01V.

I've gone as high as 1.7V on a LANParty UT nF4 Ultra-D...

On air cooling, no less.

Here's my latest.
Screen01a.JPG
I'm wondering if my PSU is up to the task. I get the random reboot/seize up @ 2.78. I bought the clearance Dynex Case w/500W PSU for $19.99 -- hard to beat a case for that price.
